Welch LLP staff and fellow community volunteers joined Ottawa Riverkeepers for another successful Shoreline Cleanup Day, removing 135 pounds of garbage from the Rideau and Ottawa Rivers and surrounding shoreline.

The cleanup brought participants together for a day by the water, where volunteers worked along the shoreline to collect litter before it could further affect the rivers and local ecosystem. Ottawa Riverkeeper’s shoreline cleanups are community-based volunteer efforts that help remove garbage from designated sites across the watershed.

The cleanup was led by Ottawa Riverkeeper, whose volunteer programs encourage residents to take part in hands-on water protection efforts throughout the Ottawa River watershed.

Thank you to all who attended our shoreline cleanup on July 23rd at Riverain Park! The Ottawa River and all of its biodiversity is so fortunate to have such dedicated individuals like you who give their time to preserving its natural beauty for years to come.
