Mathew Irwin has over 19 years of experience in providing assurance and business advisory services to owner managed businesses (in particular, automotive and construction sectors), not-for-profit organizations and government agencies. Mathew has worked with many clients from the inception of their business as a start-up through to their success and he loves watching his clients grow their business and succeed.

Mathew Irwin has been with Welch LLP since 1997 after graduating from Bishop’s University. Mathew received is CA designation in 2001 and was promoted to Partner in 2012. Aside from working with clients, Mathew plays active role in the recruitment and development of Welch’s new staff.

Most memorable vacation

East African Safari. This was an overland camping trip traveling through Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. The animals (from lions to mountain gorillas) were great, but the people/cultural experience made the biggest impact. It makes you appreciate what you have and to not sweat the small stuff.

Favorite music

I was a big fan of the 90’s grunge era in particular Nirvana and Pearl Jam. These days, Raffi seems to own the airwaves.
