About the Opportunity

We are currently looking for a Senior Tax Staff Accountant, to join our U.S/Canada Cross border team, specializing in U.S. tax compliance and advisory.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare complex and specialized U.S. partnership, corporate, and individual income tax returns
  • Review simple U.S. tax returns (partnerships, corporate and individual)
  • Preparation of voluntary disclosures for corporate tax related issues
  • Establish and maintain effective client relationships
  • Conduct special tax projects and research
  • Communicate with respective tax authorities and assist with preparation of government notice responses
  • Attend relevant workshops and conferences to remain up-to-date on corporate tax issues

Qualifications

  • Minimum completion of a University degree or College diploma with a specialization in Accounting
  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years’ experience in a public accounting firm
  • CPA, CA / U.S. CPA designation or U.S. enrolled agent, or close to completion, would be an asset
  • Some experience in either personal or corporate U.S. tax is required
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Excel
  • Canadian tax knowledge would be an asset
  • Prior knowledge of U.S. software such as CCH / Prosystem, would be an asset
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines
