Chris Meyers, CPA, CA

Chris is this year’s event host, with over twenty years of experience in accounting and financial management in various management roles and sectors.

Chris brings his public-sector experience to Welch LLP’s Government Services business line. In addition to his background with Welch LLP, his experience as a senior financial executive in complex and financially significant entities provides a unique perspective on approaches to financial management.

Zoran Vranjkovic, CPA, CA, CFP, TEP

Zoran is a tax specialist, with a focus on providing tax and estate planning to business owners, high net worth individuals and their families. His expertise includes trust and estate planning, implementing tax minimization strategies, corporate reorganizations and structuring purchase and sale transactions.

Zoran has been a group leader for the CPA Canada In-depth Tax Course, has taught various CPA Ontario courses and has spoken at the CPA Canada National Conference on Income Taxes. He is a past Chair of the Ottawa branch of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.

Shawn Kelso, CPA, CA

In 2005, Shawn was appointed Director of Professional Standards and is responsible for the compliance with Quality Assurance policy in all 12 of Welch’s offices. He is also responsible for ensuring all Quality Control directives, as set by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA), are upheld on audit files as well as recommending and enforcing Welch’s internal quality assurance policies and procedures. In addition, Shawn provides training to all offices on a regular basis and on a wide variety of topics.

While Shawn worked in the private sector, he developed expertise in pricing, financial controls and strategic planning. His role included the design and implementation of accounting policies and internal control procedures. In addition to his duties as Director of Professional Standards, Shawn also provides audit, accounting and business advisory services to private sector owner-managed businesses and not-for-profit organizations.

Bryan Haralovich, CPA, CA

Bryan leads Welch’s Technology Services group. He has served technology companies from start-up to successful exit, including support with public and private financing. The majority of Bryan’s clients have had a global footprint and the experience he gained in that sector allows him to support entrepreneurs in managing issues arising from doing business abroad.

With over 20 years of public accounting and business related experience, Bryan specializes in providing financial services to entrepreneurs from private to public companies including charities, government departments and agencies.

Kayla Cavanagh, CPA, CA

Kayla has a vast expertise in the private industry and public practice providing assurance, accounting, and tax advisory services. Kayla supports Alessandro D’Angelo and Bryan Haralovich in providing exceptional services to clients raging form startup to public companies.

Mona Tessier, CPA, CA

Mona leads the indirect tax practice group and provides indirect tax and payroll tax advice to Welch LLP clients in various industries.

Mona also heads up the Inbound Cross Border Tax Group which helps to facilitate doing business in Canada for non-resident clients by helping them navigate the income tax and indirect tax issues applicable to their business and connecting them to other professionals for non-tax related services. The Inbound Cross Border Tax Group also provides back-office services which is much appreciated by clients that do not have a back office in Canada.

Chris Anderson, CISSP, CISA, CMC, CA (NZ)

Chris Anderson is a business and IT risk and cyber security professional with corporate and audit / consulting experience in technology, telecommunications and financial services. 

Working closely with our Risk Management team, Chris is here to add value to our clients through Technology Risk Management, IT Governance, and Cybersecurity Advisory. He connects the dots between business, IT and risk management, and helps these teams work together to make good business decisions.
